I create lovely simple ceramics with an emphasis on clarity of form, organic in inspiration, with a special handmade quality that makes each piece truly unique.
I mainly build by hand or press mould in small batches, using earthenware or stoneware, keeping glazes simple. My ceramics are made in my home studio by the sea, and at Studio Gagliano in Brighton.
I have always been drawn to lovely ceramics - part of my childhood was spent watching my best friend's mum throwing on the wheel and having a go myself! I then worked with clay at college and have come back to it again within the last 6 years. I make pieces that I use myself at home.
I mainly make tableware and serving ware - special tactile pieces to use every day and make life that little bit more lovely.
